Registering Your Pool with Council

Under the Victorian Building Regulations 2018, every owner of a swimming pool or spa must register it with the municipal council in which the property is located. Once registered, council issues a formal notice confirming:

  • The verified date of pool or spa construction
  • The applicable Australian Standard for your safety barrier
  • The statutory due date for lodging your Certificate of Barrier Compliance (Form 23)
